THINK PINK

Hi Everyone
We are nearly at the end of January already, in the blink of an eye that's one month gone already. I have noticed the mornings getting lighter and I love it when it doesn't get dark so early.......

Taking part in this weeks #iwillwearwhatilike challenge, It's Pantone's colour of the year, Rose quartz or Serenity Blue and I am loving both......

When it came to posting for the challenge I realised I don't have a lot of pink anything or blue for that matter. Only a few summer pieces, and it's way too cold to be wearing next to nothing!
But I did remember that I had these trousers tucked away, and it might just be possible to find something to go with them.

I teamed the trousers with one of my favourite pink shirts (I have these shirts in so many colours) that is adaptable to wear with almost anything in my wardrobe.
The Embellished tank is an old sweatshirt, I didn't like the sleeves so I just chopped them off! I have worn it so much more this way!

I have held back on these trousers, but looking at the trend forecast I think they will be making quite a few appearance's this year! Everywhere you look there are shades of pinks. Get ready Ladies!

Shirt = Primark  Trousers=Primark  Sweatshirt= Next

One trend I'm not sure about, Socks And Sandals!!!! I really didn't know what to pair this outfit with regarding shoes. I only have Black or Brown or dark colours, and any of these just didn't look right. So the light bulb moment came about this new trend I'm reading about everywhere. I just don't think it's me!

Sandals = Next

Hi Everyone
Did you have snow yet? I have a feeling in my bones we are going to get some in London soon, It's freezing! This is the time of year I pop to Tescos in my fur jacket and not worry about feeling overdressed!

However today the sun is shining! But it is absolutely freezing! This outfit today is worn for the #mystylephotochallenge on Instagram . The challenge was Trousers not Jeans. I only realised looking through the wardrobe I really don't have a lot of winter trousers! lots of jeans yes, trousers no.
I know what to look for in the run up to next winter don't I...

Trousers Marks and Spencer + no longer available
Jumper FandF similar HERE
Boots Marks ans Spencer similar HERE
Bag Nadia Minkoff HERE

It wont be long till we are thinking about what new items we will be adding to our summer wardrobe, from what I'm hearing there are not too many changes in the trends.......
SUEDE

I saw these culottes at the fashion show last year, really great designer quality. Now in sale so you will have to be quick  £40.00  HERE  a great price for real suede . These could easily help sail me into summer. A chunky jumper for now and a silk shirt for warmer weather....

LEATHER
A no brainer! I don't think leather or faux leather is EVER going to go out of fashion I am always on the look out for bargain leather finds

This just went strait on my wish list! faux leather in my favourite must have colour! This is from Top Shop HERE £55.00 It's calf length, and will look great with a floaty summer top

Bomber Jackets

I am totally in love with this blush bomber jacket from Marks And Spencer HERE   blush, I love this colour and I think it is going to be a big hit for this years SS16 this jacket is not available yet, but when it is I will be one of the first to buy. It will work hard and go with a lot in my wardrobe

Lace

Lace, any shop you walk into, it's still going to be available. I think being more mature myself, you have to be careful where lace is concerned. Too black and you can end up looking like the old black widow! This here above and how it's styled for me is perfect. This beautiful white number is from Wallis HERE £20.00 was £35.00

MESH

The new trends are also reporting that MESH will be making an appearance, a little more edgy and not so girlie as lace. This would be great with white jeans or shorts in the summer HERE £19.00

Roll on the warmer weather!!
Have a great weekend

XO Laurie

SHADES OF GREY BUT NOT FIFTY

Hi Everyone
Well today has been so lovely and sunny, but freezing! I wish I had put the fur coat on today. I decided to take a walk around the grounds, Just checking if the front of the house needs painting!

Such a beautiful day, even the sunglasses were required. I wore one of my new favourite items of clothing, these faux leather trousers in grey. Teamed with a light Grey polo neck and this biker jacket in Grey and Taupe. I wished I had some grey boots actually, for me that would have finished the look off better in my mind...........

Sometimes I think it's a downfall of mine that I can be a little too monochromatic. I have loved this bag I received just before Christmas, I love the gunmetal colour that I am really drawn to at this present time
The jacket was bought early last year, and goes with so much in my monochromatic wardrobe (I am making a note to self as I write this to add more colour to my wardrobe)
Maybe I feel it's more age appropriate to not be too bright? Thoughts Anyone ?

But one thing I do know.. Being petite the design of these trousers are my favourite. Side zip and slim. Not only elongate my legs, but also super slimming because of the flat front. And the biker jacket is nipped in at the sides, which I prefer to achieve more shape. The heels? Well I have been wearing them high for as along as I have been able to walk in them! They give me an extra needed inch or so on my 5'ft and a tiny bit height!

Jacket = Next
Trousers = FandF Clothing HERE in different colours
Bag = Nadia Minkoff HERE

So A lovely afternoon was had walking in the grounds. Of Syon Park! just around the corner to where I live.

THE EASY TO WEAR ANYWHERE DRESS

Hi Everyone
Well winter is truly upon us now, it's so wet and cold here in London now. I was putting off this post to go and take some pictures in a nicer location but the weather is just not allowing it!

Anyway, just before Christmas I was having a little trying on session in TK Max I tried this dress on and loved it but put it aside (wasnt supposed to be shopping for me!)......

Un-be-known to me the other half bought it for me for Christmas (I was Impressed! notice was taken!)
The brand name is Beige by Eci. Not one that I have heard of before but will definitely be looking up in the future. It is so easy to wear, silky, non crease, straight cut so no nipped in waist and great for when your feeling a bit heavy. It's really slimming on. I have paired it with a cardigan that I bought a few years ago from Mango

The dress is a mixture of polyester and spandex, I guess that's why it doesn't crease. This will be great for throwing in a suitcase on my travels to Essex. If you were to be sitting in a car or at an office desk all day I don't think this dress will crease at all. Bonus!

I paired the dress with my new boots from FandF which are now at a bargain price of £17.00 very comfy and not too high and they have an elasticated zip for comfort, perfect for shopping day's for me....
I think this dress will look great dressed up when the weather gets warmer. I'm thinking gold accessories? What would you dress it up with? Please do tell....

VANITY'S FABULOUS FINDS

Hi Everyone
Well that's the first week of the year nearly gone already! My week has been pretty chilled, although what can you do when it's raining constantly? Well an indoor shopping centre is a good place to start!
This was the first time since before Christmas that I made a trip out to the shops and I really thought the sales would be at their last dregs and not a great catch to be found, but I was pleasantly surprised! There are still some great bargains out there...

Anyway I have found some fabulous things to share with you this week...

If your doing a fitness regime at the moment, check out the new Davina McCall collection at Tesco and read about it HERE I have chosen what I may be wearing when I start the Yoga I keep reminding myself of.

                                                            Jacket £18.00

leggings £16.00

One of the best sale priced brands for me has to be French Connection. I featured this a while ago and I am going to hit the purchase button as soon as I have finished this post. I know it's from A/W collection but I have a special birthday party to go to in the summer. Love it.

                                                          Dress £48.00 was £120.00 HERE

Marks and Spencer have further reductions to their sale. And if you want that iconic skirt everyone was after when their A/W collection launched and your quick on the button you can get this for a bargain price of £69.00 down from £130.00 HERE
And this gorgeous fur (dare I buy anymore!) is such a bargain at £32.00 instead of £89.00  HERE

And now .....

A little challenge I found , if like me you don't think your getting the potential from all those clothes hanging in your wardrobe try this little idea.

And see below for some fantastic bargain finds all at £20.00 or under

CASHMERE COMFORT AND SILK

Hi Everyone And Happy New Year!!

While everyone is talking "New Year Resolutions" and what they have bought in the sales, all I am going to talk about is relaxing...

After such a very busy time partying before Christmas, the in-laws to dinner Christmas day, then rushing down to Essex to feed everyone boxing day, visiting everyone.
Then dashing back to home in London for new years eve celebrations (partied till 4am!!) I was totally done!

So once home on the first morning of the new year, I decided the door was gong to be closed for a for a couple of day's  and everything was going to be at a complete standstill.....
Reading back on that now I realise I sound very bah humbug! Don't get me wrong I totally loved every minute of my Christmas & new year, but I was in need of a major shutdown.

So, into the silk pyjama bottoms and a cosy cashmere cardigan. To be honest, as soon as I hit home on any day, off comes the outfit into something comfortable. So long as I know it's decent enough to answer the door in it's OK  pyjama bottoms, leggings and a jumper or T shirt. But for day's when I'm going to just lounge it just feels better to have something a little more special on.....

I gave myself some beauty treatments, a facial and a manicure. You can read about my facial routine
HERE
I caught up on all the programmes I missed over the Christmas period (wasn't Downton Abbey brilliant) caught up with the pile of magazines I'd bought, curled up on the sofa with my fave fur throw. Scoffed my face with my home made shortbread, catch the recipe HERE

So after a couple of day's complete rest I am ready to start my year, I haven't made any new year's resolutions, I always break them anyway. Although I would love to be more organised, whatever I have tried it's never worked so I don't worry about it any more!

Before I go I wanted to tell you about a style challenge I decided to participate in on instagram. You don't have to be a blogger, and it's not all about fashion. I love Instagram, and have made many "cyber friends on there. Why not give it a go?. You can find me on Instagram HERE  Today's challenge was sleeveless, this is what I wore.....

I've had this dress a couple of years now , I wear it in the summer or winter. Just pop a jumper or shirt underneath!

Catch you all on Friday for my Fabulous Finds post
