Nougat London - The Easy Wear Dress

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favourite brands Nougat London....

This is the sister brand to Havren . I posted the gorgeous Havren dress a couple of weeks back and if you missed the post you can find it here

This  Pansie frilled hemline dress is so simple, it's really easy to turn it into either a day or night dress. The colour Oatmeal is a  blank canvas to play with and would easily blend with any colour you desire.

Today I'm giving the dress a daytime look and keeping the colour hue simple, switching the shades up a notch with this fur-lined Gilet ( Perfect for today's freezing weather !) Mushroom suede boots and my daytime tan handbag.

The flirty hemline swishes when you walk, and the dress is  silky and light. A shame there is no wind to show you how fluid it is. It feels beautiful on, nothing beats that silky feel.

But there is sun! I prefer the weather to be cold and bright, rather than warmer temperatures and rain any day!

The Jewellery I chose to enhance the dress is a Rose gold necklace and Bangle. The sleeves are long, but I preferred to ruche them up for detail.

You can see here how loose-fitting the dress is here. This is the ideal outfit for not worrying how much you eat.! No un-doing of the waistbands after that enormous Christmas dinner is what I have in mind !

So now all I need to do is decide how I'm going to wear this dress party style. I think it will look great with Black, more Gold or even Silver. There's a gorgeous Black Cardigan here that would work perfectly. Plus there is 10% off your first order at the Nougat London site Well worth looking at

Glad to have my Gilet back on. It's bloody freezing!  I'd like you to tell me how you would style this dress for evening, so please leave your comments below or tweet me at @vanityandmeblog

Did you watch the programme about Liberty London? I have watched the last two series, and have been glued to every minute of them. Such an intriguing, enchanting place, I knew I would have to pay a visit. So  I hopped on a couple of buses and got off at Oxford Street.
Well actually before I got off the bus I knew I had done the wrong thing!, of course, the January sales are in full swing, I knew it would be busy, but I wasn't quite expecting what greeted me when I got there. So, So many people it was hard to move either side of the pavement,

I fully intended to take my time and take some pictures of the beautiful lights, but it was very difficult with it being busy. I must say those lights are beautiful though

Nearly every shop is adorned with sparkle

It was like manic meets magical!

Every store looked beautiful and choca-block

So after getting through the crowds to Regent Street I finally got to my destination. Liberty's really is a remarkable building, so old it stands out proud. Apparently, the timber parts of the building are made from two ancient ships, Built in 1875 is steeped in history. I walked through the doors and couldn't believe how busy it was, it was way too busy to take pictures, there just wasn't any room. But I did manage to get a couple of shots

The mast's that have been erected straight through the middle of the shop floors and the sails are made from the beautiful Liberty print, change colour through lighting- stunning

And beautiful lighting everywhere, this is when you wished you                             were a very famous person that could look around a store privately so you didn't miss a thing !

I loved this Liberty print Deer

The part of the store that really grabbed my attention was the vintage accessories counter. Full of gorgeous items from years gone by, I fell in love with this beaded Chanel handbag

Someone is going to be a very proud, lucky owner of this one day, and unless I win the lottery it's not going to be me!

I would recommend anyone to take a look at this remarkable store, mainly because one, of its beauty and two, it's so different. Famed by its beautiful floral prints, you will find so many things here you will never find anywhere else. take a look at their website or click on my Liberty badge on the top right-hand side.   They have an on-line magazine too, So take a peep.

Alie Street - Colour Block Style

What's the first thing you do when you get out of bed in the mornings?

For me, it's put the kettle on, make a cup of tea and enjoy my space watching the news for the first half hour. That's where the story of this dress begins...

I always look forward to seeing what the news girls will be wearing in the morning. One particular morning a dress that Kate Garraway was wearing really caught my eye. I started to delve into the internet to find out where that gorgeous dress was from.

And luckily I found it! So here I am sporting my dress from my new found love label Alie Street
and what happens when you want to do a good job of showing off your new dress ? It pours with rain ! That's why this post is a day late ladies. Unless someone could conjure up a newsdesk for me to walk around meant that I just had to wait a day.

Today I was graced with a small gap in the clouds, it's blowing a gale but at least it's dry.

Getting onto the dress, which arrived beautifully packaged. Wrapped in tissue paper and  smartly boxed. I love the colour blocking, perfect shades for me,  it's also available in a Berry/Black

The dress is gorgeous to wear, it feels quite silky and is lined, made from Viscose and Elastane it has a good stretch to it, yet hugs you nicely. You can feel that you are wearing quality, and it's so elegant. I know I don't look as good as Kate Garraway, but I felt good !

I chose to keep the dress the main focal point. I just added a blue and gold necklace of a similar hue and Nude court shoes and bag. Let the colour blocking speak for itself.

The colour blocking of the dress is chosen in all the right places. Teal and Navy are a perfect combination. A deeper shade on the waistband accentuates the waistline.

I wore the dress all day and it didn't crease at all. I'm so happy with it ! I am already thinking about other dresses from Alie Street. They have beautiful evening dresses that will be great for Christmas. My chosen one would be this Lila Lace Dress  And there are some beautiful evening dresses worn by a host of celebrities.

Have you tried any colour block outfits ? I would love to hear from you and know what you think of the Alie Street brand. Let me know what your favourite is.

Verso Skincare To Help Keep The Wrinkles At Bay

It's been a while since I did a little beauty post. Today I'm sharing with you this fabulous range of skincare by Verso...

I was eager to try the products, there has been a lot of  talk on the social media sites about how good the Verso brand is. I have chosen the night cream with Retinol 8

This is what it say's it can do for you.

"Calming and repairing night cream with Retinol 8, a stabilised Vitamin A complex which is eight times more effective than standard Retinal. This soft and nourishing cream has a calming and repairing on the skin. It helps to increase the skin's own production of collagen, reversing the signs of aging. Anti-oxidants from oats help protect your skin will become soft and rejuvenated with less tendency to react to external stresses of modern life"

There are a few things that the introduction to the cream interested me. The fact that it's calming as I have sensitive skin . Secondly, I appreciate any cream that's going to stimulate my collagen production! ( This is what helps keep our skin nice and plumped up! holding moisture) . This cream is not perfumed at all. A big bonus for me because I think this is what irritates my skin with some creams. I have been using this cream for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say it's been good. My skin feels like it's been treated in the mornings, and no sensitivity breakouts so I'm tempted to try the foaming cleanser next. These are my favourite types of cleanser to use.

I was intending to add a photo of me pampering myself ! Hey ho,  sometimes things just don't work out! It takes gut's you know to plaster yourself on social media with no makeup on! Trying to keep those wrinkles at bay is so important at my ripe age of 53! or at any age for that matter !

I will leave you with some photos of what the Verso brand has to offer and where it's available to buy. Do go check it out, The brand do have samples available, so just ask the skincare rep.

You can browse the site to find out more about all the Verso skincare here

Facial oils can be so beneficial, used once a week hey can be so hydrating

I'm a big fan of foaming cleansers. They make your skin feel really clean and you don't always need a toner .

I'm very keen to try this next. Air con, and central heating sucks the life out of your skin. This could be the best recovery.

The Verso range is available from Cult Beauty, Selfridges London and Online, Net-A-Porter,, John Bell & Croyden, Feelunique, HQ Hair, Look Fantastic, Beauty Bay,,,, and Twitter/Instagram @versoskincare

I also found that the Verso night cream  is available at John Lewis here

Have you tried anything from the Verso range ? Do let me know what you think of it ! Or share with me your favourite beauty item you love to use. I look forward to hearing from you

Havren Fit And Flare Dresses - A Must Have Dress That Switches Easily From Work To Play

Havren has to be one of my favourite labels that I discovered this year......

You may remember when I sported that gorgeous sequined jumper earlier in the year here

Today I'm sharing with you this gorgeous fit and flare dress called Delilah  which is such an easy dress to wear, and gives a very flattering shape. I love the deep rich wine coloured flowers laying on a base of black, but with hints of white that brings the dress to life.

I have chosen to wear a plain long sleeved rollneck to wear underneath. A bit of a copy really because this is how it's worn on the website, and I thought it looked really good.

But how easy will it be to turn this from a day to night dress ? Or even wear to the office? A smart shirt underneath would be perfect, and loose the top underneath put on some sparklies ( I'm thinking a large statement necklace to sit in that V-shaped neckline ) and some evening shoes, you're good to go partying or a dinner!

I decided to showcase beauty of a dress at Chiswick park today. I have teamed the outfit with classic black court shoes and added a little glam with my Bronze coloured clutch. It's so beautiful here in the park and eerily quiet. In summer, this park is heaving with walkers, and it's strange to feel like I have the park nearly to myself.

I love how the dress flares from the waist, the large pleating detail sits beautifly. There is a jacket on the website that pairs up with the dress here which has just gone into sale, so grab a bargain ladies !
That jacket will go with so much!

How beautiful are all the autumn colours?

I just managed to get this shot outside of Chiswick house. Then it started to pour down ! I was hoping to show you more but I got a proper soaking!

Please do take a look at the Havren site. There are some beautiful items on there for the party season, and it's so nice to find something a little different. The dress is available in blue too as seen below

I look forward to hearing what you think of the dress, I love to recieve a comment and here from you. Or if yo wish you can subscribe to get every post sent to your inbox
